Hotter than Macramé!
I got back from vacation today, and a book of 50 Alphabets by The Hunt Brothers, ©1931, was lying on our lunch table (courtesy, I’m guessing, of Ken?).  Inside the cover was this folded photocopy of a 1978 Wall Street Journal article about the hot new trend of calligraphy!  I took my first lessons in 1982, age 12, so I was a bit behind the times, I s’pose, but a lot of this resonates with how sign painting feels today—almost as hot as amigurumi!
Now, I need to find what’s become of this San Franciscan Mr. Ingmire and his calligraphy/bookbinding school…
